About the Conference

The Justice Policy and Practice Conference is a one-day reoccurring conference.  The purpose of the conference is to foster discourse between local researchers, practitioners, government departments and students in relation to the application of criminal justice research in WA.  Underpinning it is the role to by played by evidence-based policy in advancing the WA justice system.  Previous conferences have been run at the University of Western Australia (2005), Murdoch University (2006), and Edith Cowan University (2007) and have served as excellent forums for the presentation of Western Australian research.  The 2009 edition is hosted collaboratively by the Department of Corrective Services (DCS) and the Office of the Inspector of Custodial Services (OICS).  A particular focus for this year is collaboration and partnership in research.
