Greenough Prison's Key Role in Regional Correctional Policy

Releasing his Report of an inspection of Greenough Regional Prison today, the Inspector of Custodial Services, Professor Richard Harding, emphasised the key role that the prison was capable of playing in regional correctional policy. As the overcrowding in the State's prisons continues to increase, the urgency of defining and expanding the role of Greenough becomes more apparent.
The broad conclusion of the inspection was that Greenough continued to perform satisfactorily, not without some stresses but certainly with some examples of best practice.
